Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging

(cMRI)

Overview

When magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which uses radio waves and magnets to produce 2D or 3D images, is used to diagnose problems in the heart and blood vessels in children and adults, the test is often referred to as cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (cMRI). Images from a cMRI test give doctors a more precise assessment of the severity and location of any blockages in the arteries.
