  2. What can I do to prevent problems with the veins in my legs?
  3. Do I need medication? Do I need compression stockings?
  4. What are my options for treatment?
  5. Do I need treatment for varicose veins if they do not cause any discomfort? Will they get worse if they’re not treated?
  6. What can I do to relieve the pain I feel in my legs?
  7. If I have varicose veins, do I have deep vein thrombosis (DVT)?
  8. How do I know if I need immediate medical attention?
  9. Can I feel a blood clot in my vein? What should I do if I think I have a blood clot in my vein?
  10. What can I do to prevent ulcers? What can I do to make them heal faster?
  11. How do I know if my symptoms are from a clot I had before or if it’s a new clot that should be checked?
  12. Do I need a specialist for my treatment? What kind of specialist?
  13. Will I have venous disease problems for the rest of my life?

Questions to help decide the right treatment for you: 

 

  1. If you have varicose veins, which is most important to you?
    Improved appearance of your veins?
    Elimination of discomfort?
    Reducing risk of blood clots?
  2. If treatment of your varicose veins required multiple injections for at least one session, would you opt for treatment?
  3. If this treatment resulted in your veins becoming bumpy and sore afterwards, potentially for several weeks, would you still opt for treatment?
  4. If you have venous ulcers, on a scale of 1 (not important) to 10 (most important), how important is it for your ulcer to heal?
  5. Would you wear compression socks if they help heal your ulcer?
