Restrictive Cardiomyopathy

No signs or symptoms may appear in the early stages of cardiomyopathy. As the condition advances, signs and symptoms usually appear, such as:

  • Shortness of breath
  • Lower extremity edema (swelling in legs)
  • Fatigue
  • Exercise intolerance

Other symptoms can present depending on the cause of restrictive cardiomyopathy.

The following tests help to identify restrictive cardiomyopathy:

  • Echocardiogram (ECG)
  • Right Heart Catheterization
  • Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • Endomyocardial Biopsy
  • Genetic testing

Other tests may be ordered based on your age and other symptoms.
